Majority Of Americans Now Identify Themselves As 'Pro-Life'

Looks like the Culture of Life is winning out over the pro-abortionists. 51% of Americans now consider themselves to be pro-life while only 42% call themselves pro-abortion.

From the Associated Press:

The Gallup Poll reported Friday that 51 percent of Americans now call themselves "pro-life" rather than "pro-choice" on the issue of abortion, the first time a majority gave that answer in the 15 years that Gallup has asked the question. The findings, obtained in an annual survey on values and beliefs conducted May 7-10, marked a significant shift from a year ago. A year ago, 50 percent said they were pro-choice and 44 percent pro-life — in the new poll, 42 percent said they were pro-choice. The new survey showed that Americans remained deeply divided on the legality of abortion — with 23 percent saying it should be illegal in all circumstances, 22 percent saying it should be legal under any circumstances, and 53 percent saying it should be legal only under certain circumstances.

People are beginning to realize that abortion as a means of birth control is reprehensible and that responsible personal decisions before a pregnancy occurs are the policies that would best suit our younger generation.

New Obama Rule Would Force Pro-Life Doctors To Perform Abortions

So, where are Doug Kmiec and Chris Buckley now? They were pretty vocal about their "conservatives who support Obama" mantra back during the campaign. They especially liked the attention they recieved as a result.

But now, for some reason, these two are very silent when it comes to the issues that they were certain they had nailed down. Doug Kmiec was convinced that Obama would respect the views of the pro-lifers that Kmiec got to vote for Obama.

Kmiec was nothing more than a useful idiot to Obama since Obama has shown nothing but disdain for and disrespect to pro-lifers whom Kmiec convinced would find a new, elevated status if they voted Democrat last November. How so? Obama's latest proposed rule change would force pro-life medical professionals into performing procedures they find morally objectionable.

Tonight at 9:00 p.m., the Andrea King Show will have Dr. Joe DeCook, Vice President of AAPLOG, the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Here is what he has to say:

"The administration’s new efforts to overturn the HHS regulation could mandate practices such as abortion or shut down many of the 557 Catholic hospitals around the country that treat millions of US hospital patients. “Revoking the regulation is the first step in removing a doctor of his or her rights to make a decision based on conscience and as a result placing that decision in the hands of the government. This issue will not only effect faith-based institutions, but could cause a dire situation for the entire medical profession.”

Of course. You can't have government-run health care if doctors are free to make their own decisions free of government influence.

The Obama administration has opened the HHS regulation – also known as “conscience clause” – for public comment until April 9, 2009.

Obama's Radical Pro-Abortion Agenda Makes Doug Kmiec A Useful Idiot

Doug Kmiec's name is going to come up over and over and over again during the next few months. Most notably because he somehow convinced himself and his followers that Barack Obama and the Democrats would make good on a promise to make abortion as rare as possible. Unfortunately, the actions of Obama and the applause he recieved from his fellow leftists shows that Kmiec and his ilk had simply been used to get votes and are now best described as "useful idiots."

Sound harsh? I don't think so. No more harsh than the Dems who so snidely sang "Hey, hey, goodbye" to President Bush at the inauguration of Obama. No, no more harsh than that.

Anyway, Obama's first act of slapping Kmiec in the face was accomplished yesterday when he overturned the Mexico City Policy that forbade the use of federal funds for abortions overseas. Now, money that could be used to help Americans is being sent overseas to end the lives of unborn children and we taxpayers get to pay for it.

Obama ordered the repeal of what has been dubbed the Mexico City Policy. The rule has prohibited international family planning organizations from receiving federal funds unless they agree not to perform or counsel for abortion or lobby in order to liberalize the pro-life policies of foreign governments. ... Southern Baptist ethics leader Richard Land and other pro-life advocates decried Obama's order. "President Obama was the most radically pro-choice candidate of a major party in American history and pledged to Planned Parenthood that he would never back down on this issue," Land said. "Unfortunately, his executive order overturning the Mexico City Policy may just be the first step in his fulfillment of that campaign pledge to his radical pro-abortion supporters. "With his action today, American taxpayers' money once again will be used in part to fund abortions that end the lives of our fellow human beings in other countries," he said.

And Doug Kmiec convinced millions of pro-life Catholics that this wouldn't happen, that Obama and the Dems would respect their pro-life positions.

Doug, you are most definitely a useful idiot.

Robert Bork Predicts Liberal Policies Will Endanger Catholic Freedoms

If Doug Kmiec has any credibility left, it will be gone soon. His support of Barack Obama has helped to bring Roman Catholics to a turning point in American History. A century ago, Irish Catholics were mis-treated more because of their faith rather than their ethnicity. With the election of Barack Obama and the leftist policies he and the liberal Dems are embracing, it's starting to look like Catholics are once again going to be looked down upon, only this time by the entire Federal government.

Judge Robert Bork gave an interview to Cybercast News Service, excerpts of which were published by the Catholic News Agency, in which he made several very dire predictions. Among those are a conflict of government policies versus freedom of religion.

From the interview:

"Everything is up for debate these days. I can’t think of anything that isn’t," he said. "You are going to get Catholic hospitals that are going to be required as a matter of law to perform abortions," he claimed.

This is just one issue. If the Freedom Of Choice Act (FOCA) is passed and signed into law, it will require Catholic hospitals to go against their own religious beliefs and kill unborn children.

But, Judge Bork did mention that there was a way around this.

Asked whether there was a freedom of conscience clause anywhere in the Constitution that might prohibit the U.S. government from compelling a religious hospital to perform abortions, he replied: "Well, the free exercise of religion clause might fulfill that role." He agreed with the CNS interviewer, Editor in Chief Terry Jeffrey, that such coercion forces someone to act against their religion and could be construed as a violation of the right to free exercise of religion.

That may be the one good thing to come out of an Obama Administration. It will force liberals and other leftists to acknowledge that little known clause in the U.S. Constitution regarding the freedom of religion: "nor prohibit the free practice thereof."

When asked what is happening to America, Judge Bork responded:

Judge Bork said he also thought that America is “now going down a path towards kind of a happy-go-lucky nihilism.” “A lot of people are nihilists,” he continued. “They don’t think about religion. They don’t think about ultimate questions. They go along. They worry about consumer goods, comfort, and so forth. “As a matter of fact, the abortion question is largely a question about convenience. If you look at the polls about why people have abortions, 90 percent of it has nothing to do with medical conditions. It’s convenience. And that’s I think an example of the secularization of an issue that ought to have a religious dimension.” When asked whether a nihilistic society can remain “happy-go-lucky” for long, Judge Bork replied: “I don’t know. I guess we are going to find out.”

Yep. Abortion is simply a way of casting off responsibility for acting irresponsibly. Leftists in America want us to pay for erasing someone else's irresponsibility. I say let those responsible pay for it themselves.

Doug Kmiec and Melinda Henneberger better get their pens ready. If the Democrats spurn the pro-lifers who put them into power and pass FOCA, several million voters will feel betrayed. Kmiec and Henneberger will have become the major dupes in that betrayal.

Doug Kmiec Whines: Catholic Bloggers Are "Tormenting" Him

One of the hallmarks of a good person is integrity. Integrity means admitting that one is wrong whenever one is clearly wrong. I'm sure that most people have integrity in their private lives but when they go public or are made public by other circumstances, the first thing they lose is their integrity.

Unfortunately, Doug Kmiec is one of those people. He made himself public as a pro-life Catholic who offered his support for the extremely pro-abortion Barack Obama and actively campaigned for other pro-life Catholics to join him in his endorsement. Kmiec had somehow convinced himself that Obama and the Democrats in general would respect the pro-life views of himself and those who rallied to his call.

Then, when the hard truth hit, Kmiec was discredited and basically made to look like a fool who blindly led his flock astray. I documented a part of this in my previous blog entry:

I thought my own posting on the issue was very civil and thoughtful, especialy since it was based on an article by Kmiec's peer journalist, Melinda Henneberger, who wrote the following article for Slate:

So, why am I bringing all of this up again?

Because Doug Kmiec is whining about how he is being mistreated by the "right-wing Catholic blogosphere." Actually, what has happened is that there has been a backlash against his support for the most pro-abortion President of all time.

Instead of admitting that he led himself and his followers astray, Kmiec has chosen to abandon his integrity and make himself out to be some sort of victim. He claims that he has been on the recieving end of "missiles of hate" and "ad hominem invectives." Personally, I invite everyone to read my previous blog entry posted above so that they can see that 84rules did nothing of the kind.

The Catholic News Agency has more on this story:

Brian Saint-Paul, editor of Crisis Magazine and InsideCatholic.com, was highly critical of Kmiec’s endorsement of President-elect Obama. He responded to Kmiec’s essay in a Tuesday e-mail to CNA. "While I strongly disagreed with Dr. Kmiec's support for Barack Obama, I have also been sorry to see the personal abuse he's received from fellow Catholics as a result," he wrote. "If those in the Church can't disagree without resorting to playground insults, we're a sad example to the rest of the world." "Having said that, I hope Dr. Kmiec doesn't use the immaturity of some of his critics as a reason to avoid the more legitimate concerns of others. There is a conversation that needs to take place here, and it will require thick skins all around."

That is where Kmiec lost his integrity. I have no doubt that he did recieve some purile hate-mail, but to generalize it to include everyone who has been critical of him shows his victim mentality.

Thomas Peters, who runs the blog “American Papist,” was critical of Kmiec’s comments. "Blog culture is not homogenous. Kmiec ought to be specific when he says he is being attacked by ‘the blogosphere.’ It's like saying ‘the press’ is attacking you, and then proceeding to only mention things said by the National Enquirer," he told CNA in a Tuesday e-mail.

And that is the whole point here. Kmiec is responding to his critics by offering broad-brush accusations with very little, if any, evidence behind them.

"He has attempted to move the debate away from the original argument in question (specifically Obama's record on life issues) into the realm of the character assassination he feels he has been subjected to." "Kmiec constantly points out the vitriolic or silly criticisms he has received, while almost wholly ignoring the substantive disagreements that many prominent members of the pro-life movement have raised in response to his arguments. It shouldn't be surprising that he fares well when he matches himself up against this army of straw men, or in this case, these nameless, faceless ‘bloggers’."

What Kmiec is missing is the reason this whole thing started to begin with. Mark Shea clears that up very nicely:

He suggested that Kmiec received singular criticism because of his unique position. "It's not like there was a huge field of one-time pro-life Catholic leaders who suddenly turned about and started making excuses for Obama's pro-abortion zeal," Shea told CNA. "He was one of the most prominent alleged pro-life Catholic voices out there banging the drum for Obama, a man who has pledged to sign the single most destructive act of pro-abortion legislation in American history. What did he expect?"

Yes, what did he expect? Did Kmiec expect that all pro-life Catholics would be as blind to him as he himself was to Barack Obama?

And finally, the parting shot by Shea:

"I'm not interested in hearing Kmiec moan about how mean people from the bottom of the barrel were to him," Shea told CNA. "I'm interested in hearing his responses to the very intelligent critiques of his position that were offered by a number of very respectable and honorable Catholics."

If Kmiec would like to reclaim his integrity, he would listen to what Mark Shea said.

SECOND Indiana Planned Parenthood Hides Rape Of 13-Year-Old

Finding it once may lead some to suspect that an event recorded at Planned Parenthood in Bloomington, Indiana during which a staffer counseled a "13-year-old" girl to hide the fact that she was a victim of statutory rape was nothing more than a isolated incident meriting only the firing of the staffer involved.

But finding it again at a separate clinic in a separate video but with astonishingly similar solutions to the problem the "13-year-old" girl is facing means that it is more than just an isolated incident and may very well be policy taught to Planned Parenthood staffers, not just in Indiana but nationwide.

If nothing else, it is certainly worthy of investigation to see just how many laws Planned Parenthood is willing to break in order to get an abortion done and how many rapists and child molesters that Planned Parenthood wants to see let go. Remember that Planned Parenthood makes money everytime they get to kill an unborn child.

Watch this video of yet another Planned Parenthood counselor trying to hide a statutory rape and coaching the girl on how to get an abortion without her parents' knowledge. This video was recorded in Indianapolis, Indiana on the same day as the video recorded in Bloomington.



This is your tax dollars at work. Planned Parenthood gets money from the Federal Government and uses it to ensure that rapists and child molesters get away without having to face any consequences for their crimes. What is worse, the rapists and molesters are free to stike again, all courtesy of the money that the government confiscates from your paycheck.

Pro-Abortion Groups Issue Marching Orders For Obama Administration

Despite the obvious unethical behavior of groups like Planned Parenthood that coach 13-year-old girls on how to hide the sex crimes committed against them, pro-abortion groups have issued their instructions to Barack Obama. Given that the Obama transition team has posted the memo on-line, it looks as though they are going to follow these orders to the letter.

Steven Ertelt of Life Site News has this:

A coalition of dozens of pro-abortion groups have issued a 55-page memorandum and the web site for the Barack Obama transition team posted it online. The new memo from groups like Planned Parenthood and NARAL gives Obama his marching orders for the next four years.

What do the orders include? Douglas Johnson of National Right to Life notes the following:

"The pro-abortion lobby has presented its radical abortion agenda to the Obama Administration in a single tidy 55-page package -- even including the exact language of presidential orders that these lobbying groups want Obama to sign," he explained. "The groups instruct the Obama Administration that it should propose repeal of the Hyde Amendment, and include an abortion mandate in a 'health care reform' bill, within the first 100 days. Longer-term goals include the so-called 'Freedom of Choice Act' and packing the federal courts with judges who are pre-committed to vote with the pro-abortion side," Johnson added. The memo calls for Obama to strike all limits on taxpayer funded abortion in various circumstances. "The President’s budget should strike language restricting abortion funding for (i) Medicaid-eligible women and Medicare beneficiaries (Hyde amendment); (ii) federal employees and their dependents (FEHB program); (iii) residents of the District of Columbia; (iv) Peace Corps volunteers; (v) Native-American women; and (vi) women in federal prisons," it says.

In other words, the pro-abortion lobby wants to use abortion as a means of birth control rather than teaching responsibility on the part of potential parents. That even includes defunding abstinence training programs.

The memo urges Obama to take other actions like putting together a federal health care plan that covers abortion, reduce abstinence education funding, and pull down information from federal web sites that talks about the medical and mental health problems women suffer after abortions. It also calls on Obama to only appoint pro-abortion judges to the Supreme Court and lower federal courts. The memo includes the actual text Obama should use for Executive Orders and Presidential Memorandums, legislative language changes, new regulatory initiatives, and a list of judicial vacancies. Johnson says pro-life advocates have a clear list of what they will need to oppose immediately after Obama takes office and he urges all pro-life advocates to get involved immediately to stop these proposals.

The pro-abortion lobby also called for more funding for Planned Parenthood despite the unethical and illegal behavior that Planned Parenthood routinely engages in and the fact that Planned Parnethood has turned into a franchise abortion mill with an annual income of over $1 billion. I'm pretty sure that money could be better used in medical research to cure diseases rather than killing innocent, unborn children.

Writing for the Washington Times, Victor Morton has some more information about the video, how it was produced and what the various responses have been:

Planned Parenthood of Indiana has suspended a nurse after the release of an undercover videotape showing her coaching a supposed 13-year-old on how to duck Indiana's laws about parental consent on abortion and the reporting of child sex abuse. The videotape shows Lila Rose, the president of a university pro-life group and a brunette, posing as a blond 13-year-old girl named "Brianna" and telling the Planned Parenthood nurse at the clinic in Bloomington, Ind., that she is pregnant by a 31-year-old man. ... The nurse, who is referred to on the video as "Diana" but whose face has been blurred, knew neither that the session was being taped nor that "Brianna" really was Miss Rose, a 20-year-old pro-life activist at the University of California at Los Angeles. Miss Rose told The Washington Times on Thursday that this footage is only part of an ongoing project with many examples of such conduct. Her group and other student pro-lifers have released tapes of similar counseling. Indiana is not one of 12 states that restricts or prohibits surreptitious taping.

Lila Rose is certainly one courageous and resourceful young lady. Her efforts at exposing Planned Parenthood for what it really is are among the most admirable journalistic endeavors I have seen in a long, long time.

Planned Parenthood of Indiana quickly suspended "Diana" without pay on Wednesday and vowed an investigation. "We are deeply concerned about the content of the video. ... The apparent actions of the employee would be in violation of our strict policies and procedures," Betty Cockrum, the state chapter's president, said in a statement. "A thorough internal investigation of this matter has begun. ... Further disciplinary action will be taken if warranted by the investigation."

I, for one, find it very hard to believe that Planned Parenthood didn't already know this was happening. I mean, this is the same organization that is selling gift certificates so that women can celebrate Christmas by killing their unborn children.

This response is a little more disturbing:

Indiana law requires health care providers and others to report a sexual act between an adult and a person younger than 14 to law enforcement or the Department of Child Protective Services. Not reporting such an act is a misdemeanor punishable under state law by a maximum of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. A city spokesman said Thursday that the Bloomington City Police is not investigating the clinic or the nurse for suspicions of violating the statutory-rape notification law, but is beefing up security around the facility to protect it from any backlash. "There's no investigation taking place, but they have stepped up patrols around the area," said Danny Lopez, communications director for the city of Bloomington. Patrols have been stepped up in case anybody has a strong reaction to the situation, but he said there have been no problems.

You read that right. The police are not investigating Planned Parenthood for violating the law or for attempting to cover-up a case of statutory rape. They are protecting the abortion clinic.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Given the fact that there have been no problems with security at the clinic, why not investigate this clinic and all Planned Parenthood clinics since they have more than enough probable cause to do so and would be acting in good faith? To do otherwise is an admission that they are willing to look the other way whenever a young girl is raped.

But, I really like what the Mona Lisa Project has been doing and all of the corruption they've uncovered about pro-abortion groups:

The Mona Lisa Project, she added in a statement, "demonstrates how quickly the abortion industry's disrespect for unborn children becomes disregard for all humans. Planned Parenthood offers no solutions for the victim of statutory rape - they give her an abortion and a bag of condoms and sent her straight back into the arms of the abuser." ... This incident also is not the first time surreptitious taping by Miss Rose and other pro-life college students has embarrassed Planned Parenthood. • Last month, Students for Life of America released a video taken over the summer of a college student posing as a 15-year-old girl telling staffers at a Charlotte, N.C., clinic about emergency contraception because of unprotected sex with her mother's 30-something live-in boyfriend. The Planned Parenthood staffers acknowledge this as statutory rape. Students for Life filed a state Public Records Request that showed that Planned Parenthood never reported anything to authorities. • Last year, Live Action Films students posed as racists to tape phone calls in which several Planned Parenthood chapters accept donations on condition that the money be used to abort blacks. In one call, Autumn Kersey, vice president of marketing for Planned Parenthood of Idaho, is told that the caller has been hurt by affirmative action and "we just think, the less black kids out there the better." Miss Kersey nervously laughs and says "understandable." The Idaho chapter later called accepting the money "a serious mistake." • Also in 2007, Miss Rose videotaped a Planned Parenthood staffer in California telling her, while posing as a 15-year-old pregnant by a 23-year-old boyfriend, to lie about her age so the staffer wouldn't have to report anything under statutory rape laws. "You could say 16," the worker helpfully suggests. "Just figure out a birth date that works. And I don't know anything." Planned Parenthood responded by threatening a lawsuit over the surreptitious taping.

Not only is Planned Parenthood enabling rapists to prey on young girls, they are apparently racists as well. But that makes sense since one of Margaret Sanger's original intentions for Planned Parenthood was to eliminate the African-American population.

My hat is off to Lila Rose, the Mona Lisa Project, Live Actions Films and the Students for Life of America. They have taken on an issue that Old Media is diliberately ignoring. Further, they are exposing corruption and criminal activity while Old Media has been trying to hide it.

Lila Rose, may God bless you and your friends who have taken up such a noble cause and fought such an honorable fight.

Voter's Remorse: Did Pro-Life Catholics (Especially Douglas Kmiec) Get Punked By Obama?

I think it is pretty clear that the answer is "Yes." Obama lied to them and they believed it. Now, many pro-life Catholics are heading into Advent wondering why they had been so eaily led astray by the charismatic Obama and wondering how they had been convinced to support a man who has almost no Christian values in his life at all.

They were lead astray by people like Doug Kmiec who wrote, "While no papal instruction will ever condone the "right to choose," the church does ask for a consistent and realistic defense of life that actually takes steps to reduce the incidence of the practice, not just condemns it. ... Beyond life issues, an audaciously hope-filled Democrat like Obama is a Catholic natural."

Unfortunately, Doug forgets that he is not a member of the body that makes policy for the Catholic Church in the United States. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops does that. And in their meeting in Baltimore, Maryland in early November, the Bishops drew a line in the sand concerning abortion, Catholic Hospitals and the Freedom Of Choice Act (FOCA).

You see, Barack Obama promised Planned Parenthood that he would sign FOCA into law first thing after taking office, the moment it hits his desk. Among the provisions of this law are: Forcing Catholic Hospitals into doing abortions and completely removing any requirment for informed consent (i.e. disclosing possible complications of the procedures) and any parental notification. (Without parental notification or informed consent, it would be entirely possible that a teen-aged girl could get an abortion and develop complications as a result of the procedure but her parents would never find out who or what caused them and they would not be able to seek compensation from those responsible.)

Right now, there are freedom-of-conscious laws in 46 states that prohibit the government from forcing Catholic Hospitals to perform morally objectionable prcedures. Doug Kmiec and other pro-life Catholics who supported Obama were betting on Barack Obama and the Democrats being respectful of those laws. It was a sucker's bet.

As the general public begins to gain access to more information that the news outlets deliberately suppressed during the campaign, people like Doug Kmiec are going to be made to look like fools. It is already showing at Slate with one of Doug's peers, Melinda Henneberger who writes:

I have high hopes for President Obama, I was so looking forward to dancing at this party. Yet, although abortion was not a major issue in the race, the pro-life argument that he was the candidate most likely to decrease the need for—and number of—abortions did make it easier for many Catholics to cast their votes for him. I think we should hold him to that commitment now. At the very moment when Obama and his party have won the trust of so many Catholics who favor at least some limits on abortion, I hope he does not prove them wrong. I hope he does not make a fool out of that nice Doug Kmiec, who led the pro-life charge on his behalf. I hope he does not spit on the rest of us—though I don't take him for the spitting sort—on his way in the door. I hope that his appointment of Ellen Moran, formerly of EMILY's List, as his communications director is followed by the appointment of some equally good Democrats who hold pro-life views. By supporting and signing the current version of FOCA, Obama would reignite the culture war he so deftly sidestepped throughout this campaign. This is a fight he just doesn't need at a moment when there is no shortage of other crises to manage.

As noted above, Doug Kmiec led his flock (i.e. his pro-life readers) astray and the Catholic Bishops are exposing him and others like him by openly calling into question Barack Obama's stance on forcing Catholic Hospitals to perform morally objectionable procedures.

Henneberger's column also shows how Barack Obama and the Dems in general have no respect at all for anyone who thinks outside of the leftist philosophy of the Democratic National Committee. Not one ounce of respect, even if those people cast votes in the Dem column.

Those pro-lifers who listened to people like Doug Kmiec and voted for Obama got punked. And they are starting to realize the hard truth about it. I can only guess at how much it hurts them to see that truth. But no amount of confession or penance can ever allow them to go back and change their vote.

Barack Obama's Courtship Of Radical Islamists And His False Charge Of Pro-Lifers Lying

If B. Hussein Obama is this clueless about the company he keeps here in the United States, then how clueless would he be when it comes to dealing with Islamists (especially extreme radical Islamists) on the world scene? The answer to that would be "extremely clueless" as well as "extremely dangerous."

This whole question came about after Obama attended Rick Warren's forum this past Saturday in an effort to prop-up his image as a Christian.

Frank Gaffney Jr. over at TownHall takes a look into just how B. Hussein Obama is running his affairs and with whom:

It is, therefore, curious in the extreme that he is giving a prominent role at next week’s Democratic convention to a leader of an organization identified by the Department of Justice as a Muslim Brotherhood front organization and an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism financing conspiracy. Dr. Ingrid Mattson is the president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), an organization created by the radical, Saudi-financed Muslim Students Association. She will represent the Muslim community at the first-ever interfaith prayer service at a Democratic nominating convention. Now, we know from the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trial that ISNA is one of many Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated groups operating in America. We also know from a Brotherhood document entered into evidence in that case (which is currently being retried after the first prosecution resulted in a mistrial) that, “The work [of Brotherhood members] in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within, and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

Yep, you read that right. Islamists think the United States is a "miserable house" and are committed to "destroying Western civilization from within." And B. Hussein Obama apparently has no problem at all cozying up with them.

Whatever the reasons for the Democratic presidential candidate’s sensitivities about the Islamic faith, he has an obligation to make clear his attitude towards the Muslim Brotherhood, its mission in America and his willingness to be associated with its front organizations. It is still the case that most Muslims in this country do not want any part of Shariah law. It behooves Sen. Obama to make known now whether he is willing to embrace those who do, and his true attitude towards their ambition to impose the Islamists’ barbaric code here through such subterfuges as Shariah-Compliant Finance.

Why do the Democrats still insist on believing we are stupid enough to let news items like this somehow slip our notice?

And here is another reason not to trust B. Hussein Obama: He has been accusing Pro-Lifers of "lying" about his abortion record despite the fact that the evidence shows the pro-lifers are telling the truth.

Obama made the aggressive attack when Christian Broadcasting Network Senior National Correspondent David Brody asked Obama about documentation the National Right to Life Committee recently obtained of a 2003 committee vote on “born alive” legislation that would have required medical officials to give life-saving care to babies who survived abortion. Obama has said again and again he voted against versions of that bill as an Illinois state senator because it did not include language to protect Roe v. Wade, as the federal version did which sailed through the U.S. Senate 98-0. The committee report, however, shows a 10-0 vote in favor of an amendment to add the same language to protect abortion rights that was added to the federal bill. That same committee report subsequently shows Obama voting the kill the bill in a "final action" vote.

No lie there. The records clearly show that the Pro-Lifers are absolutely accurate in their portrayal of Barack Obama's abortion views. The Associated Press verified it:

And yet here is what Obama says about it:

Obama said the NRLC “have not been telling the truth” and launched into some of the most vicious language he’s ever used against his opponents. “And I hate to say that people are lying, but here's a situation where folks are lying,” he lectured. “It defies common sense and it defies imagination and for people to keep on pushing this is offensive and it's an example of the kind of politics that we have to get beyond,” Obama said. “It's one thing for people to disagree with me about the issue of choice; it's another thing for people to out and out misrepresent my positions repeatedly, even after they know that they're wrong. And that's what's been happening.”

But, once again, as the record shows, it is B. Hussein Obama who has been misrepresenting himself. The NRLC simply exposed the truth and exposed Obama to be the liar.

Violent Drug Gang Defaces Vietnam Memorial, Global Warming Positions Shift And Man Who Attacked Pro-Life Counselor Almost Goes Free

Well, if you were hoping that 2008 would bring more stability to the world, your hopes will not be realized. We are still caught up in what Dr. Thomas Sowell called a "conflict of visions" and will remain so for the duration of human existence.

That being said, let's look at three stories that embody this "conflict."

First, an El Salvadoran drug gang known a Mara Salvatrucha, also known as MS-13, which is largely made up of illegal immigrants, defaced a Vietnam Veterans Memorial on New Haven, Connecticut. According to Channel 9 WTNH News:

Veterans are outraged that a war memorial in New Haven has been vandalized. The Vietnam War Memorial at Long Wharf was spray painted with the threatening words "Kill whites MS 13." Seeing this just crushed the veterans we spoke to. The names on that wall that are covered in paint, are the names of those who fought and died for this country in the Vietnam War. Tonight, police are investigating whether this is the work of a violent street gang, but the veterans we spoke to, say whoever they are, aren't as tough as they might think. "This irks me. This hurts me deep to my heart," Vietnam Veteran Emery Linton Sr. said. Linton looked in disgust at the graffiti covering New Haven County's Vietnam War Memorial at Long Wharf. Linton, who served in the Army, fought in Vietnam from 1969 to 1972. He lost friends there and he says the mess, on a memorial to honor veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, is a slap in the face. "People here respect these names. They gave their lives for everything, for the freedoms they have," Linton said. Whoever did it sprayed "MS-13" all over the place. According to law enforcement, MS 13 is a violent international gang with roots in El Salvador. Members are involved in drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and even human trafficking and their presence is growing in the U-S. Just this summer, police in the Boston area did a big round-up of MS 13 gang members.

MS-13's presence is growing larger here in the U.S. Another reason why we need to crack down on illegal aliens and send them back to their countries of origin.

Writing for the New York Times (Yes, you read that right. The uber-liberal New York Times), John Tierney has this to say about the Global Warming debate:

Today’s interpreters of the weather are what social scientists call availability entrepreneurs: the activists, journalists and publicity-savvy scientists who selectively monitor the globe looking for newsworthy evidence of a new form of sinfulness, burning fossil fuels. A year ago, British meteorologists made headlines predicting that the buildup of greenhouse gases would help make 2007 the hottest year on record. At year’s end, even though the British scientists reported the global temperature average was not a new record — it was actually lower than any year since 2001 — the BBC confidently proclaimed, “2007 Data Confirms Warming Trend.” When the Arctic sea ice last year hit the lowest level ever recorded by satellites, it was big news and heralded as a sign that the whole planet was warming. When the Antarctic sea ice last year reached the highest level ever recorded by satellites, it was pretty much ignored. A large part of Antarctica has been cooling recently, but most coverage of that continent has focused on one small part that has warmed.

What is happening that is not being reported by Old Media is that the skeptics who doubt that Global Warming is human-induced are growing in numbers and the data being collected by scientists is starting to indicate that temperature variations and fluctuations are a natural phenomenon.

Tierney goes on:

Once a cascade is under way, it becomes tough to sort out risks because experts become reluctant to dispute the popular wisdom, and are ignored if they do. Now that the melting Arctic has become the symbol of global warming, there’s not much interest in hearing other explanations of why the ice is melting — or why the globe’s other pole isn’t melting, too. Global warming has an impact on both polar regions, but they’re also strongly influenced by regional weather patterns and ocean currents. Two studies by NASA and university scientists last year concluded that much of the recent melting of Arctic sea ice was related to a cyclical change in ocean currents and winds, but those studies got relatively little attention — and were certainly no match for the images of struggling polar bears so popular with availability entrepreneurs. Roger A. Pielke Jr., a professor of environmental studies at the University of Colorado, recently noted the very different reception received last year by two conflicting papers on the link between hurricanes and global warming. He counted 79 news articles about a paper in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, and only 3 news articles about one in a far more prestigious journal, Nature. Guess which paper jibed with the theory — and image of Katrina — presented by Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth”? It was, of course, the paper in the more obscure journal, which suggested that global warming is creating more hurricanes. The paper in Nature concluded that global warming has a minimal effect on hurricanes. It was published in December — by coincidence, the same week that Mr. Gore received his Nobel Peace Prize.

We need to start paying attention to real scientists on this issue, not to those who are being paid by Al Gore and enviro-lawyers to say only certain things about global warming.

And finally, we have a case coming out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania about a 69-year-old man being attacked by a pro-abortion supporter at an abortion clinic, and the police were trying to let the assailant go.

From the World Net Daily:

Pro-life activists are calling for an investigation into – and possibly prosecution of – police officers who responded to a severely injured abortion clinic sidewalk counselor, but then allowed his suspected attacker to leave the scene. "It is unbelievable that an officer would allow an attacker to go free after inflicting life-threatening injuries on an elderly gentleman, then threaten to arrest the witness to the crime," said Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue. "That was not only unprofessional conduct, but it showed a fundamental lack of respect for Mr. Snell's life and beliefs. She should face serious discipline." The attack happened just before Christmas, as Ed Snell, 69, was trying to counsel women entering the Hillcrest Abortion Center in Harrisburg, Pa., according to witnesses at the scene. John McTernan, a witness to the incident, said Snell tried to counsel a woman who got out of a vehicle and was going towards the abortion business with a man. However, the man suddenly jumped the fence, "leaped on the vehicle with Ed and catapulted him off of the vehicle and onto the ground," he said. Snell landed on his back and head and was knocked unconscious, he said. He was hospitalized with multiple trauma, bleeding in his head, compression fractures of four vertebrae, two broken ribs and a broken shoulder, the report said. The problem escalated when three police officers who arrived on the scene to investigate allowed the attacker to leave, the report said. Even though the assailant still was in the business when officers arrived, and they were able to talk with him, they allowed the assailant and his companion to drive away, the report said. The report said the following exchange then developed: McTernan to police: "What are you doing? That's him! That's the assailant!" Officer: "It is none of your business." McTernan: "I am making it my business. Ed Snell is my good friend." The officer then threatened to arrest McTernan, and he responded. "I want to know why the assailant walked away from this scene where an elderly man was left unconscious."

Why? Indeed. Leftist Old Media loves to report anything that a pro-life person might do that is even remotely violent. But when a pro-abortion person commits an obvious act of violence, Old Media is shamefully silent.

Facing an onslaught of negative publicity, Harrisburg police finally arrested the assailant.
